Why does the Help to Buy Scheme require a valuation?

If you bought a property under a Help to Buy scheme and are thinking of remortgaging, selling or refinancing, then you will require an independent market valuation by an RICS Redbook compliant surveyors.

Under the UK Governments Help to Buy scheme, Target HCA, an independent company, were commissioned to administer the scheme. If you are based in Wales, then Help to Buy Wales manages this and not Target HCA.
