VALUATIONS

Help to Buy Valuations

Why does the Help to Buy Scheme require a valuation?

If you’ve purchased your home using the Help to Buy scheme and are now planning to repay the loan, sell your property, or staircase, you’ll need an independent RICS Help to Buy valuation. This is a formal assessment of your property’s current market value, specifically required by the scheme administrators (such as Target HCA).

A Help to Buy valuation must be carried out by an RICS Registered Valuer and follow strict criteria, including internal and external inspection, three comparable sales, and a clear valuation figure valid for three months. It cannot be based on an estate agent’s opinion or desktop estimate.

At Dunham Hale Chartered Surveyors, we regularly carry out Help to Buy valuations across Greater Manchester, Cheshire, and beyond. Our reports are fully compliant, easy to understand, and produced quickly to ensure your application or repayment progresses smoothly and without delay.
